The federal government shutdown that started Oct. 1 has brought free entry into Rocky Mountain National Park.
The Coloradoan visited the park Oct. 10 and park employees were staffing the Beaver Meadow and Fall River entrance stations. They were informing visitors the park is not charging an entrance fee and not requiring a timed entry permit reservation. The reservation for the main park was to end Oct. 13 and for the Bear Lake corridor Oct. 19.
