LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - University of Louisville police broke up a rally of students on campus Monday morning.

Video sent to WAVE News shows where students had built an encampment in front of Ekstrom Library. The students are a part of the Louisville Students for Justice in Palestine group.

In a Facebook post, LSJP said officers didn’t let students wait for the admin to arrive and begin negotiations. Students were told to disperse by campus police and ultimately made the decision to do so peacefully.

The rally was a demonstration for the university to divest from what they call genocide.

UofL said one student was cited for disorderly conduct.
