For the first time in 47 years, Delaware’s signature Point-to-Point steeplechase will not take place next spring. Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library announced it will pause the annual event in 2026 to make way for a special celebration marking the museum’s 75th anniversary, and the nation’s 250th.

Museum officials said the anniversary celebration offers an opportunity to reflect on Winterthur’s legacy and chart its course for the future. Instead of hosting the annual steeplechase, the museum plans to use the break to “reimagine” the daylong fundraising event, with a renewed focus on long-term goals, community engagement and mission-driven programming.
