MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Airbus has reached a new milestone in Mobile, officially opening another assembly line.
Since its opening in 2015, the facility has tripled in size; in that time, Airbus has made over 600 airplanes.
"I swear to God, every time I get on the plane, I look and see if I'm on an Airbus. And I sleep a little bit better,” said Senator Tommy Tuberville.
Alabama leaders joined the Airbus team to celebrate the expansion, calling it a major win for both the company and the state's growing aerospace industry.
