Since joining the Library Speakers Consortium in the summer of 2022, the Summit County Library has brought dozens of acclaimed authors into local homes — virtually.
The partnership, which connects public libraries across the country, allows small and mid-sized systems like Summit County’s to access major literary voices that might otherwise be out of reach.
“We love having author events, but we often can’t afford a lot of the bigger named authors on our limited budgets,” said Summit County Library Director Daniel Compton. “The idea of this group was to form a consortium with libraries all across the country and have virtual author talks.
