LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A man has died nearly a month after a crash on I-65 North.
Louisville police said the crash happened around 6:15 p.m. on Sept. 19 at mile marker 124, which is near the county line. An initial investigation showed a car was traveling in the third of four lanes of I-65 when the driver, for an unknown reason, drifted across the lanes and crashed into a work truck that had pulled over on the right shoulder after a tire blew out.
Police said the impact of the crash was severe, and the driver had to be extricated by Okolona fire. The driver was taken to UofL Hospital, where he would later die on Oct. 11. The Jefferson County Coroner identified him as 51-year-old Daniel Wayne Ingram.
The driver of the work truck was standing off in a grassy area and was not injured.
