The Blue Jays bullpen might have been a strength against the New York Yankees, but it was an issue vs. the Seattle Mariners in Game 1 of the American League championship series and Game 2 offered more of the same.

For the second consecutive day, a Jays starting pitcher walked off the field in a tied ball game only to see the bullpen falter soon after. On Sunday night, Brendon Little was to blame. Less than 24 hours later, it was Louis Varland.

Varland served up a three-run homer to Jorge Polanco in the fifth inning and the Jays offence failed to mount a comeback in a 10-3 loss to the Mariners on Monday evening. The Jays now find themselves in a precarious position, going on the road down 2-0 in the best-of-seven series. LIVE
