BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Sound walls along part of I-10 in Baton Rouge are set to get cleaned with special drones.
According to East Baton Rouge Mayor-President Sid Edwards, the drones will clean the concrete walls on the eastbound and westbound sides of I-10 between the I-10/I-12 split and Acadian Thruway.
Because of the cleaning operation, overnight lane closures are set to begin on Wednesday, October 15, pending approval from DOTD. More specific dates and times will be announced in the coming days.
The drones that will be used are from LA Drone Services, which officials said was contracted to perform the work. A cost-share relationship between DOTD and the East Baton Rouge City-Parish Government is making the cleaning work possible.
“This is what teamwork looks like,” said East Bat
