CADIZ, OH (WTRF) - On October 13th, 1960, Pirates' Bill Mazeroski hits a walk off homerun in game 7 of the World Series, and 85 years later, athletes from Harrison Central High School gathered at the American Legion Post 34 in Cadiz to honor the Ohio Valley baseball legend.
They did so in a fun and unique way, by holding a girls vs. boys wiffle ball homerun derby.
Head coach of the Harrison Central baseball team Michael Valesko said it is important to educate the younger players on the history of baseball.
