LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — On Monday evening, House of gg, also known as The Griffin-Gracy Educational and Historical Center, announced the passing of transgender activist Miss Major.

They shared that their beloved leader and revolutionary figure in the TLGBQ liberation movement, Miss Major Griffin-Gracy, passed away at the age of 78 years old on October 13, 2025, in the comfort of her Little Rock home while surrounded by loved ones.

Miss Major, known as "Mama" to many, was a Black, trans activist who fought for more than five decades for the trans, gender nonconforming, and LGB community — especially for Black trans women, trans women of color, and those who have survived incarceration and police brutality.
