ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) -A standing-room-only crowd filled a Midtown church Monday night, with emotions running high over St. Louis City’s latest development proposal.
The project, which calls for two data centers to repurpose the shuttered Armory venue and an adjacent parking lot, carries an estimated price tag of $1.5 billion and has stirred debate across the region.
“We can’t take another disaster,” one resident said during public comment, echoing the tension that filled the room throughout the night.
While the project’s developer, Rod Thomas, was not in attendance, representatives from Steadfast City Economic Community Partners and other experts who would work on the project presented details and fielded questions.
