The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Mumbai remained in the ‘moderate’ category on Tuesday morning, with a small rise in reading recorded. The AQI in Mumbai rose from 135 to 143 on Tuesday morning, according to the Air Quality Early Warning System at 5:30 am.

The AQI in Mumbai is on a steady rise after rainfall subsided in the city, as per the detailed analysis of Particulate Matter (PM) 2.5 and PM 10. It is expected that Mumbai’s air quality would take a further dip as winter season approaches, slowing down wind patterns.

The highest AQI in Mumbai was recorded in Colaba, at 180, close to the ‘poor’ category.

In other areas across Mumbai, the AQI was recorded to be in the ‘moderate’ or ‘satisfactory’ category.
