If Fox college football analyst Joel Klatt was in charge of Penn State's upcoming coaching search, he would try to contact four people right away.
Of course, Indiana 's Curt Cignetti is one of them.
Klatt identifies three categories of potential replacements for the fired James Franklin :
The big swing.
A current coach who would fit Penn State right away.
A respected assistant coach who may be ready for a move up.

"This guy is a proven commodity, and since this last weekend with that win over Oregon, I don't think there's a hotter name in college football right now than Curt Cignetti," Klatt said.
Cignetti is 17-2 at IU, which made last season's College Football Playoff and is ranked No. 3 in the nation after a 30-20 win at Oregon.
