An incident on Monday left one person dead after being hit by a school bus on State Road 43 near East 600 North.

State Police said the bus was traveling northbound in the left lane when it struck a person walking from the Speedway to the Phillips 66.

Authorities confirmed that no children were on the bus at the time of the crash, and no one else was injured.

The coroner's office will release the victim's name once the next of kin have been notified.
