Vodafone has revealed the cause of the huge internet blackout which left thousands of customers across the UK grappling with their Wi-Fi and 4G and 5G connections, ending nearly 24 hours of speculation over the disruption. ‌

The upheaval began shortly after 3pm on Monday, October 13, with widespread reports of issues impacting broadband , 4G and 5G services. ‌

Reports were still filtering into Downdetector , a website tracking mass outages across the globe, on the morning of Tuesday, October 14. ‌

The outage left over 130,000 people unable to get online at its peak, sparking fury among users, workers and businesses who were all relying on connectivity . Vodafone customers are now demanding compensation .
