Officials from the Malawi Mission in South Africa, led by High Commissioner Stella Ndau, visited the site of the tragic bus crash in Limpopo Province to assess the situation and check on Malawian nationals involved.
The bus, traveling from the Eastern Cape to Harare, reportedly lost control on a steep road and rolled multiple times. Authorities have confirmed that 42 people died on the spot, while 41 others sustained serious injuries.
Due to the severity of the accident, identifying victims has proven difficult, and South African authorities are conducting forensic analysis to determine how many Malawians are among the deceased.
