QUAD CITIES, Ill. (KWQC) - Fall leaf collection programs are underway in some Quad Cities communities, with Rock Island and Moline both launching their seasonal services Monday.

Rock Island’s Leaf Collection Program

Monday through Dec. 4

Leaves must be in approved, paper yard waste bags

The city can provide the bags or people can buy their own that meet city specifications.

The bags must be placed at normal refuse collection locations on regular collection days, according to city guidelines.

The bags can only contain leaves

Moline’s vacuum collection system

Monday through Dec. 12

Moline will utilize vacuum trucks

City crews ask people to rake leaf piles next to the street rather than in the roadway
