ALLEGHANY COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - The Clifton Forge Police Department is investigating a man after a social media video post showed him allegedly hitting a dog with a stick.

The social media post appeared online Monday, October 13; a well-being check was performed on the dog in question, according to police.

The suspect was identified and charges are pending; police did not mention which platform was used to make the post.

No further details will be released at this time, say police.
