The Green Party has set out plans to “overtake the Tories and replace Labour ” after a surge in support.
A new poll by YouGov put the Greens on 13%, the highest number it has recorded for the party and nearly double the 6.7% of the vote they received at last year’s general election.
The party is just four points behind the Conservatives and within sight of Labour, who are on 20%.
Reform UK are still out in front on 27%, with the Lib Dems on 16%.
Meanwhile, the Greens have announced that their membership has topped 100,000 for the first time in its history – an increase of 50% since the election of left-winger Zack Polanski as party leader last month.
