IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - Multiple state and national Republican female lawmakers spoke at a Johnson County Republican Women event in Iowa City Monday night.

U.S. Rep. Ashley Hinson, U.S. Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, Lieutenant Governor Chris Cournoyer, Attorney General Brenna Bird, Iowa Senator Dawn Driscoll and member of the Iowa County Board of Supervisors Abigail Maas presented to a crowd of dozens at the Courtyard by Marriott hotel near Kinnick Stadium.

The lawmakers praised recent moves by President Trump and expressed frustration regarding the federal government shutdown .
