LOUISVILLE, Ky. — As the holiday shopping season approaches, Amazon announced it is looking to hire 250,000 workers nationwide, and thousands of workers from Kentucky.

The retail giant is trying to fill 3,000 full-time, part-time and seasonal positions statewide and 1,000 of those positions are in Greater Louisville.

Candidates can expect flexible scheduling options with an average wage of more than $19 per hour, Amazon officials said.

Amazon has invested over $1 billion, which has lead the following:

Total compensation now averages more than $30 per hour (including elected benefits)

Employees with Amazon for 3+ years can see average pay increase by 35%

Benefits include reduced-cost health care plan for $5 per week, with $5 doctor visits, paid parental leave, and pre-paid tuition
