A dad who suffered a severe head injury after a crash while on holiday in Turkey has sadly died.

John Kearney, 64, obtained a serious head wound after he fell off the rental scooter he was riding in İçmeler, Turkey on September 30.

The Brit was taken to a nearby hospital, where he spent the next two weeks fighting for his life.

John's daughter, Joanna, recalled her heartbreak at the phone call her family received as they were told of the incident John had been involved in.

On Thursday, October 2, just two days after John was hospitalised, his relatives were told to fly out to Turkey as hospital staff were going to turn off the dad's life support machine, the Liverpool Echo reported
