At Tuesday’s meeting of the Brown County Commissioners Court, approval was given to the purchase of an office building. The vote authorizes County Judge Shane Britton to enter into a contract for the purchase of 600 Fisk Ave. Judge Britton said the County is running short on office space, and if the purchase of this building is realized, some County offices will move there. The building at 600 Fisk Ave. currently houses Wendlee Broadcasting and Ann Jones Real Estate.

Commissioners also approved the purchase of a used wheel loader for Precinct 4. The John Deere 624L wheel loader will cost $100,000, minus a trade-in of a Caterpillar loader, for a net cost of $78,000.

Commissioners also agreed to leave the current Burn Ban ON for now.
