WHITESTOWN, Ind. — An Indianapolis woman was arrested in Whitestown after a traffic stop led to officers finding approximately 24.5 pounds of cocaine.

Around 8:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13, Whitestown police officers conducted a traffic stop on a black Chevrolet sedan on southbound Interstate 65 near the 131-mile marker, just north of Whitestown Parkway. Police said the car was driven by a 36-year-old woman from Indianapolis.

During the traffic stop, officers said they smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car, which led them to search her car.

With K-9 Jeter's assistance, officers found a black duffel bag in the trunk that police said had 10 large, silver-wrapped packages.
