TOWN OF DICKINSON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - A local non-profit that provides services to the developmentally disabled is considering a major merger.

ACHIEVE is exploring the possibility of combining with The Arc Madison Cortland.

The combined organization would provide services across five counties as ACHIEVE currently operates in Broome, Tioga, and Chenango Counties.

ACHIEVE says the two agencies have a history of collaborating and that the timing is good because the CEO of The Arc Madison Cortland plans to retire next year.

Both agencies say they welcome any questions or concerns from their respective stakeholders throughout the process.
