MANSFIELD, La. – Two men are in the hospital and one is in jail after a stabbing led to a shooting then sporadic gunfire in a Mansfield neighborhood over the weekend.

DeSoto Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested Kadarious Terrell, 22, of Mansfield, on Saturday for attempted second-degree murder in the shooting. He was arrested Saturday night and is held in the DeSoto Detention Center on a $350,000 bond.

According to the sheriff’s office, Feezelt Montgomery, 19, allegedly stabbed Patrick Dewitt, 39, of Mansfield, then Terrell shot Montgomery.

Dewitt and Montgomery remain hospitalized at Ochsner LSU Health in Shreveport.

The violent spree started in the 700 Block of Kennedy Street in Mansfield with Dewitt’s stabbing. The type of weapon used is still being determined.
