CLEAR CREEK COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - Colorado State Patrol (CSP) said troopers responded to two crashes, one deadly, that occurred following a pursuit on Tuesday.

State Patrol said a 29-year-old suspect driving a Chrysler Town and Country was speeding away from Clear Creek deputies and Idaho Springs police just after 2 p.m. Tuesday.

CSP said deputies had deployed stop sticks, but the suspect continued driving east on Highway 6 on deflated tires and lost control, colliding head-on with a Lexus RX350.

According to troopers, the driver of the Lexus was airlifted to a hospital, where they died. A 27-year-old woman in the vehicle was reportedly taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

They said the suspect died on scene.
