SEATTLE — Support for the Seattle Mariners reached new heights Tuesday when a local pilot flew his plane in the shape of the team's iconic trident over downtown Seattle.
Jeremy Bellwood, a season ticketholder for 10 years, took to the skies over T-Mobile Park in his blue and white Glas Air Sportsman to cheer on the team in a unique way as they continue their playoff run against the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League Championship Series.
"Once they got into the playoffs, I wanted to do something special," Bellwood said.
The 13-year pilot, who said he finds his peace at Paine Field Airport, spent Tuesday morning carefully tracing the trident pattern over the city, timing the flight just before the Mariners return home to continue the series.
