Yesteryear star actor Kanaka is one such person who has been leading her life on her own terms, away from the public eye, no longer interested in the limelight.

The great-granddaughter of Raghupathi Venkaiah Naidu — widely regarded as the father of Telugu cinema, who established the first Indian-owned movie theatres in South India — and the daughter of popular actor Devika, who shared the screen with stars like MGR and Sivaji Ganesan, Kanaka made her acting debut in Karakattakkaran (1989).
