A supply teacher alleges he was dismissed from his role after being "snitched on" for putting up flags around his hometown.

Shaun Remmer, a father of one, says he adored his dream job as a teaching assistant at Welburn Hall School in York until his world came crashing down last month.

Shaun, from Thirsk in North Yorkshire , had been hanging British and other flags around the town, which he describes as a "symbol" of the United Kingdom's "unity". He claims to have put up a total of 150 flags around the small town, and claims many locals welcomed his "decorations".
