A paedophile who believed he had asked a 13-year-old girl for pictures of her breasts was caught with dozens of 'frankly vile' images.

Martin Ryder's thoughts soon turned to sexual activity when he was told he was speaking to a 13-year-old on social media, a court has heard.

The 56-year-old asked the profile, named 'Ella', about masturbation and the size of her breasts.

He continued to speak to 'Ella' for days before a 'paedophile hunter group' turned up at his door, the Liverpool Echo reports .

It sparked the paedophile's downfall, which ultimately led to an appearance at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday (October 14).

Ryder was arrested and had his phone seized, where officers discovered a collection of 46 indecent images
