BATON ROUGE, La. - The Louisiana Department of Insurance is urging Medicare beneficiaries to review their coverage during the annual Medicare Open Enrollment Period, which runs from Oct. 15 through Dec. 7. Changes made during this period will take effect on Jan. 1 of the following year.

Key Actions Beneficiaries Can Take:

Change from Original Medicare to a Medicare Advantage Plan or vice versa.

Switch from one Medicare Advantage Plan to another.

Adjust their current Medicare Part D Prescription plans.

Beneficiaries should review their Annual Notice of Change and Evidence of Coverage documents for details on their plan's coverage and any changes for the coming year.
