A person was found dead inside of a home in Torrington during a fire on Wednesday morning, according to police.

Emergency crews were called to reports of a fire at a home on Marvin Street around 8:15 a.m.

When firefighters arrived, they said they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the building. Fire suppression efforts were initiated and firefighters conducted a search inside.

According to police, one person was found inside of the home and was pronounced dead at the scene. The person's identity has not yet been released as their next of kin is notified. No other injuries were reported.
