TOLEDO, Ohio — Whirlpool announced on Wednesday that it plans to make a multi-million dollar investment in its U.S. laundry manufacturing facilities, a move that it said would create between 400 and 600 jobs at two Ohio plants.

In a press release, Whirlpool said it plans to ramp up production at facilities in Clyde and Marion following a $300 million investment in its domestic manufacturing footprint.

Whirlpool, which is based in Michigan, said its investments were supported by financial assistance from JobsOhio and tax credits from the state of Ohio, and are subject to final approval of this assistance.
