NORTH LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – For 14 years, North Las Vegas’s old city hall has sat vacant in the shadow of its replacement. It served the city for 45 years, but was left behind in 2011.
On Wednesday, the city council will vote on a plan to tear down the building and redevelop the entire 19-acre site along Civic Center Drive.
“It was old,” said North Las Vegas Mayor Pamela Goynes-Brown, “(Old city hall) tells our story. This is where it all began.”
Mayor Goynes-Brown is more familiar with the city’s home than most. She called it her second home while her father served on the council for 20 years.
“My most fun part was being out here on the beautiful lawn, just playing with other elected officials’ children,” she recalled. • In plans filed with the city, Agora Realty and Development plans
