ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A child dabbling with substances under the legal age — and keeping it a secret, knowing they were doing something wrong and against the law.

A St. Louis mom says she was blindsided when she discovered her teenage son buying vapes with no questions asked. We’re concealing her identity to protect her family’s privacy and to avoid any issues for her son at school.

“Scared. Absolutely scared and terrified,” the mother said. “This isn’t my kid. I start looking at it, and I see, wait a minute, what is this charge? And then going farther down, and then there’s another one and another one and another one.”

Turns out, she says, he was buying vapes for friends who didn’t have the cash. A rare case where helping out a friend didn’t sit well with mom.
