PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - Deputies said a Pueblo man was taken into custody Tuesday for violating a protection order three weeks after his initial arrest.

According to the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), Matthew Phelps , 43, was arrested on Sept. 23 after deputies found more than 1,100 images and videos of child pornography in his possession.

Phelps was charged with three counts of felony exploitation and prohibited from having contact with anyone under the age of 18.

On Tuesday, Pueblo County detectives reportedly saw Phelps driving with his friend’s child in his vehicle.

Detectives conducted a traffic stop and arrested Phelps without incident. Deputies said Phelps admitted that he knew he wasn’t supposed to be in contact with minors.
