ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - A teenager was convicted and sentenced for his involvement in a 2024 attempted carjacking in Aurora.

According to the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, Aurora police received a 911 call on the evening of Oct. 8, 2024. The victim claimed two men approached him in the 16900 block of East Quincy Avenue while his two young daughters were in the backseat.

The victim said one of the suspects, later identified as Mark Jackson, now 19, placed a pistol against his head and told him they were taking his car.

The victim reportedly grabbed the gun and tried to push it away from his face. The gun fired, but did not hit the victim. The victim then grabbed his own weapon and fired one round, missing the suspects.
