McLEAN COUNTY, Ky. (WFIE) - Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear is sending a large chunk of money to help people move out of flood-prone areas.
Over 118 million dollars will be spread out to six counties, including McLean County.
Earlier this year, McLean was hit by a record-setting flood that caused widespread damage.
If residents accept the assistance, the money will be used to buy out their properties in flood-prone areas.
Judge Executive Curtis Dame says these buyouts will “help our people get a fair price for their property and relocate to safer areas.”
