One man has been charged in a homicide that took place in southwest Edmonton in February 2024.

At approximately 6 p.m. on February 26, 2024, police responded to multiple reports of gunshots in the area of 106 Street and 74 Avenue.

Officers searched the area but did not find anything suspicious. Later that night, shortly after 11 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the same area on the report of a deceased male.

Upon arrival, police and paramedics located 34-year-old Ozan Budak deceased.

An autopsy conducted three days later found Budak’s cause of death to be gunshot wounds, with the manner of death being homicide.
