SAUGUS, Mass. —
The Route 107 bridge will be closed until further notice after an inspection determined repairs would be necessary for the bridge's function, the Saugus Police Department and MassDOT announced Wednesday.
The bridge, which connects Saugus and Lynn over the Saugus River, will require vehicle loads to be removed from affected sections until repairs can be made to the bridge.
MassDOT says the bridge will shut down at around 7 p.m. Wednesday.
According to Saugus police, there would be no impact on vessels and the drawbridge aspect of the bridge will remain operational.
Sidewalks will remain open to bicyclists and pedestrians while the bridge is closed.
