GLOBE, Ariz. — Globe residents who have had their water service recently interrupted have been told by the city to boil their water before using for cooking or drinking.

On Oct. 15, the city issued a boil-water notice for residents and businesses who recently experienced a disruption to water service. The multiple flooding events reported this past weekend resulted in water main breaks in the city, which may have allowed bacteria to enter the water system.

Bottled water can be used as an alternative during the 24-hour notice.
