LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A Nebraska trucking company is receiving mixed reactions after changing its paid time off policy to align with the state’s paid sick leave law that went into effect on Oct. 1.
Staff with Gana Trucking & Excavating, a trucking company from Martell, said they were notified of the changes through a flyer posted in the office earlier this month. It was then followed by a series of in-person meetings with management this week.
Previously, employees received PTO in one full allotment on the anniversary of their employment. The amount of hours provided was based on seniority with the company. Senority Hours per year 1-3 years 40 3-8 years 80 8+ years 120
