HIGH POINT, N.C. — Construction is moving steadily on a new facility aimed at serving High Point’s growing community of older adults.
Crews were seen Thursday morning pouring concrete for the foundation of what will become the High Point Center for Active Adults . Cement trucks moved in and out of the fenced site, laying the groundwork for what city officials are calling a state-of-the-art facility designed to expand programming currently offered at the Roy B. Culler Jr. Senior Center.
The new center will host activities for residents age 50 and older, including arts and crafts, fitness classes, and dancing. Construction began in August, and visible progress is being made, with heavy equipment and workers active on site.
