After a year of changes for the Englert Theatre , from the venue’s final year of producing the Mission Creek Festival to the launch of the Iowa City Songwriters Festival (ICSF) , leadership will be changing at the historic downtown Iowa City theater.

John Schickedanz is resigning from his role as executive director "to pursue other opportunities," according to a news release. Schickedanz stepped into the role following Andre Perry's departure from the Englert in 2021, initially serving as the interim director during the theater's national search. Schickedanz secured the position in June 2022.
