WASHINGTON D.C. — The Mid-Michigan Honor Flight completed ‘Mission 24’ on October 15th, giving veterans the opportunity of a lifetime to pay their respects to their brothers and sisters who served alongside them.

“I’m able to feel the love of and the gratitude of the people that interact with us through this entire experience and then also being able to sit next to the veterans and talk with other veterans, let their hair down so to speak,” says Army Veteran Jonathan Turnbull.

And throughout the trip, they each took the time to reflect on their experiences.

“I saw an example at the World War Two memorial of a person who must have been very involved. And he was sitting by himself just contemplating, and it was really stark to see that,” said Richard Bukowski who was the only World War 2
