North Bay Battalion head coach Ryan Oulahen always likes a week where he has more practice time.
This week is one of those weeks as North Bay is off until a Saturday night date in Barrie. It is part of the Ontario Hockey League’s ‘Rivalry Week’ and then the Colts come right back to North Bay on Sunday afternoon. The rivalry with the Colts, and not the much closer Sudbury Wolves, dates back to the Battalions days in Brampton.
“Nothing gets easy in this league,” says Oulahen. “We look at our schedule it is a tough weekend; it is back-to-back games fighting against a divisional opponent. They are a very good team who have a lot of players back from a divisional champion last year.”
For the record, Barrie, like North Bay, is a game under .500 with 8 points in 10 games.
