SILVER SPRINGS, Nev. (KOLO) - On Thursday, Oct. 16, after 1:30 p.m., a student was taken into custody after allegedly threating to bring a firearm to Silver Stage Middle School, according to a Lyon County Sheriff’s Office news release.

A Lyon County school resource officer initiated an investigation.

Afterward, the juvenile was taken into custody without incident and later turned over to the Lyon County Juvenile Probation Department.

There is no ongoing threat to students, staff, or the community, the news release said.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and school district are working together to enforce a zero-tolerance policy for school violence and threats.
