TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - A Tucson mother and daughter tragically lost their lives over the weekend in a car crash on Ajo Highway at the intersection of Old Ajo Way.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety reported that the mother and daughter were passengers in a rideshare vehicle. The vehicle was making a left turn when it was struck by another car. Four people died in the crash.

Aleesha Herrington, known as Taylor, was 25 years old. Her mother, Dejon Nicole Weaver, went by Nicole. They were killed just minutes from their home. Syrena Ortega, a family friend, said Nicole and Taylor were returning home after spending the day together and had spoken with Taylor's grandmother earlier that day. That was the last time the family heard from them.
