LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln Transportation and Utilities Department on Thursday announced the opening of the city’s annual snowplow naming contest.
Now through Nov. 5, residents can submit snowplow names, and through late December, vote for their favorites.
The winning names will appear on eight city snowplows next year.
“Winter in Lincoln is a time to celebrate our community’s creativity and the hard work of our winter operations team,” said LTU Director Liz Elliott. “The Name that Snowplow contest lets community members have fun leaving their mark on these hardworking snowplows. After two years of clever entries like Betty Whiteout, Truck Norris, and Sleetwood Mac, we can’t wait to see this year’s submissions.”
This is the third and final year of the Name That Snowplow contest
